Finally Sync Outlook Calendar and Tasks from Your iPhone or Android

iPhone Outlook task and calendar sync

Your wait is over. A digital planning solution that allows you to view and manage your Outlook® calendar and tasks on-the-go has finally arrived.

Day-Timer’s new Plan2Go app for iPhone or Android offers both calendar and task sync with Microsoft Outlook. This means you can now view and manage your work and home information from anywhere.

Here is a quick look at how the Plan2Go for iPhone or Android apps can benefit you:

Task Management on the Go

A long-time knock against iPhone or Android smartphones has been the lack of a to-do list application that can sync wirelessly to Outlook on your desktop. Other apps require you to make double entries, manually copying task data from your computer screen to your iPhone – a redundant process leading to wasted time and potential errors.

Day-Timer solves this issue by providing 2-way wireless sync functionality that allows you to view and update tasks in real-time. It’s a simple process to create tasks, set their due dates, and check them off when you’re done. This is a huge productivity advantage for those who manage their business or home while constantly on the move.

Your Daily Plan in One View

Your daily calendar and task lists are shown together on one screen, allowing you a convenient way to keep tabs on exactly what you should be doing, and at what time. The apps combine multiple calendar accounts into one view, and allow you to categorize them with color codes and custom labels.

The best part is that calendar sync will be available in less than 10 days, task sync in a month. View the live countdown [Update: it's now available] visit the Day-Timer apps page.

The Benefits of Mobile Planning

This collection of features will improve your organization and reduce your stress by giving you the confidence of knowing that you are doing what needs to be done at all times. Add tasks and appointments as they arise from anywhere you might be: at the doctor’s office, in the factory warehouse, at your child’s hockey game, in the grocery store… your planning possibilities are limitless.

Easily Integrate iPhone or Android App Planning into Your Life

Imagine… phone, email, maps, text messaging, and now Outlook calendar and tasks all in one mobile device. Adding Day-Timer apps into your Outlook planning system is a fast, simple process that is easily integrated into your busy life. This new and improved app is available to new users at the great low price of $7.99.

  1. Jeff does this work with Outlook 2010 64bit version?

    Hi there,

does this App sync with Tine2.0 (Open Source Groupware, http://www.tine20.org/)? I’m using an Android Phones with Samsung’s built-in Calendar App, which doesn’t support Tasks. Everything else works fine, but I want Tasks…

  3. Amy says:

I downloaded the Day-Timer Plan2Go app for my iPhone 4S yesterday. I was excited to learn that Daytimer had the Coastlines theme available, however, after I downloaded and synced, all my tasks were reformatted as one complete string of text – meaning in the Notes of a Task, I had lists of phrases for things to be done for that task and after syncing, each task “notes” in one paragraph without spacing or punctuation. Is this something that might be addressed in an update?

I presently use Week Calendar 4.2, which I find has the best functionality as to what I need (different calendar views), but I would love to be able to have my tasks entered on the calendar, as the Day-Timer advertised. Along with the convenience of the iPhone, I have not been able to cease using the Day-Timer paper pages and own each Coastlines size available, along with other formats 

Thank you for taking the time and I’m hopeful to be able to use the Day-Timer Plan2Go at some point.

I have been happy with the day timer app, but at this point it is failing me! I did the update in my apps and now I’ve gone from “movers & shakers” to something called “Plan2Go”? Maybe it’s just a new name? Anyway, when I click on the app, it shows the main screen and then just goes back to my desktop. I have come to rely on this app for my appointment making, please tell me how to fix this problem….and quickly!

    Christian

  7. Pretty useless… no way to search a task by category or by subject, no way to modify the color-only categories, it wiped out the calendar synchronization between Outlook and my iPhone that had been completed through iTunes.

How do I get a refund?

  9. Jim says:

Jeff, I just purchased your app. I am very disappointed as I cannot get it to work at all on my iPhone. I have an open ticket (#199) currently but I have not heard a status. How can I receive a refund for my purchase?

    • Jeff Doubek - Day-Timer Spokesperson says:

Hi Jim. I’m sorry you’re having issues with our iPhone app. Please email me directly at jeff.doubek@daytimer.com and tell me in full the issues you’re having. I’ve been using it successfully for quite a while now and will do what I can to help make it work for you.

well, I’m using ,,Plan”. It Sync my tasks on the go to Cloud :)

  11. Helen Davis says:

I want an application that synchs calendar, tasks, contacts and notes from outlook to the iphone 3Gs wirelessly. Can this do it or can it be modified to do it? Besides the application, what else would I have to purchase? I don’t care about the cost of the program.

    • Jeff Doubek - Day-Timer Spokesperson says:

Helen, the Day-Timer app wirelessly syncs your calendar and tasks with Outlook. There are no other purchases required once you’ve bought the app, though you will need to download a free plug-in for your computer.

      Thanks — Jeff

      • Mike says:

just bought an android and was not aware that tasks werent supported, when do you think your app will support tasks for android?

  12. Jenel Cavazos says:

Just purchased this app today. I agree with an earlier post about the entire UI looking rather cartoon-ish. Also, the buttons are a bit small to press. There are several little annoyances (the color task category fields are way too dark for the text; I don’t want to have to pick a time for tasks to be due); but the thing that ABSOLUTELY BREAKS this app for me is that you can’t seem to assign a repeating task. I use repeating tasks constantly, and it’s a fairly basic functionality that a LOT of programs have. Can we have an update adding this, please?

    • Jenel – thanks for commenting. We have some great new features (including UI)coming your way in our next free update, that should be released by Apple store within the next month.

I have forwarded your comments for repeating tasks to the product team, though I recommend you try using repeating appointments for those tasks you routinely do each day.

      Thanks — Jeff

      • J. says:

        Jeff,
Repeating appointments are ok however they don’t show up in the “task” list and also you’re not able to check off an appointment. I believe this app would be pretty amazing and near complete if it only had the option to include repeating tasks. Many people have some of the same TASKS that they need to complete each week but scheduling them as APPOINTMENTS just seems silly, especially if you can’t check them off… is there any possibility we might see this in the near future?

  13. TOP says:

Do you have a Synch App for Outlook to Android yet?

  14. Michelle burke says:

I wanted to confirm if this app will work in an exchange corporate environment

  15. Larry Montague says:

I know we can’t have everything, but what about notes? I returned an iPhone because it could not work with Outlook, also when I loaded my contacts into the iPhone it saw fit to delete out of 1400 contacts all of my phone numbers except 18. I expected it to capture my contacts “exactly” as I had them. WILL THIS APPLICATION BE A MIRROR OF WHAT OUTLOOK LOOKS LIKE? I agree with Jim. If it is a mirror of Outlook I would also pay more…

  16. Brendon Jay says:

I have downloaded as per instruction (Task) but no luck, does this app need to connect via exchange? Also I have Office 2010 running W7 Professional. Thanks

    • Jeff Doubek - Day-Timer Spokesperson says:

      Hi Brendon,

Thank you for choosing Day-Timer for your mobile planning. You are correct that an Exchange account is needed in order for the wireless task sync to work. Please see our complete instructions at http://www.daytimer.com/iphoneapps/faqs.asp

      Thanks — Jeff

      • Brendon Jay says:

Thanks for your reply, I couldnt see any reference that i needed exchange for this app to work, otherwise I wouldnt of downloaded/paid for this app.

  17. Jim says:

I am sick and tired of the problems I have sync-ing my calenader to my iPhone via iTunes, and I have NEVER understood why Apple ignored support for task list sync.

This sounds very clever, IF IT WORKS ;-)
I will research it a bit this evening and would gladly pay a LOT more than $5.99 for it assuming it lives up to it’s promises!

    • Jeff Doubek - Day-Timer Spokesperson says:

Thanks for giving us a shot, Jim. I hear your frustration, let me know if I can help in any way.

      Jeff
